2. What is the difference between the PTSA and the Lowell Fund?
The Lowell Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a member of the National PTA and California PTA. The PTSA advocates for the students and school ,but we also promote a sense of community, and actively raise money to support academic and extracurricular programs and infrastructure improvements. We raise funds in several ways including from the school bookstore, Book2Book and Cyberfundraising such as eScrip. Our biggest fundraising effort is the Lowell Fund or the direct appeal campaign which is conducted in the fall and spring.

3. For those who may be interested in donating, does the Lowell Fund present financial statements?
The PTSA treasurer presents a monthly financial report at the PTSA General Meeting which is held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Lowell choir room. The PTSA is working to provide online access to the treasurer's reports for current PTSA members.
4. What can a student or parent do to help resolve an issue, problem or misunderstanding with a teacher?
The best approach for any student, or parent, to resolve any misunderstanding/problem/issue with a teacher will be to first contact the teacher directly. This can be done by a phone call, an email, or a face-to-face appointment with the teacher. Often times, the misunderstanding is due to the lack of communication and can be resolved relatively easily. If not, the student or parent may ask the student’s counselor to help. If needed, a meeting can be set up with all involved parties, with the counselor in attendance. If all steps fail, then the problem may have to be brought to the administration’s attention, starting with the AP and then if needed, the Principal.
5. Does Lowell offer tutoring services? How can my child sign up for a tutor?
The Lowell California Scholarship Federation provides tutoring servicse to the students. Please go to the website http://lowellcsf.webs.com/ to apply online for tutoring services.
6. What is Cyber High?
Cyber High is an online program that enables students to make up D or F semester grades. Cyber High is not an alternative to taking classes at the school, but a substitute for night school, which was cancelled due to budget cuts and is no longer a fallback for students who need to make up failing semester grades.
